NOTE TO ARTISTS, VENUES, LABELS & PR COMPANIES - it is very important that you read this advice before submitting CDs

NetRhythms focuses on acts with their own website and/or MySpace
and distributed CDs - finished product silver CDs and full length albums only - NO singles, NO EPs, NO 'Advance' copies, NO demos, NO 'burned' copies or digital downloads! We don't review Pop, Indie Rock, Metal, Punk, Urban R&B, Hip Hop, Rap, Dance, Trance, Electronica, Ambience, or Jazz. We apologise that we are no longer able to review gigs nor accept live reviews for publication.

Unfortunately we don't have time to go to musicians' websites or MySpace to listen to MP3s, answer requests or comment personally on demos - or any other music sent to us.

Acts out there from America, Canada, Australia etc without a label or distribution in the UK (and that doesn't mean Amazon, CD Baby nor iTunes), we are only likely to review your Music if you have a UK Tour planned around its promotion in the UK.

We are now receiving so many albums from unsigned, own and small label acts that we can't possibly listen to them all - let alone review them. If you are amongst this group, don't be down-hearted, keep working away and your time will surely come. Remember that in the long run it is your fans who will make it happen for you.

SUBMITTING INFORMATION FOR OUR VENUE LISTINGS

We need the following information: the name of the venue, the venue's website, a couple of sentences about the club's music policy and frequency of events held (ie Sundays twice a month, every night, Thursdays once a month etc). Your booking policy needs to include top folk and acoustic acts on tour - 50 per cent of whom should have albums already reviewed on NetRhythms.

Advice to musicians starting out in the music business

If the public can't find a Link from which to buy your CD, find your gig dates and learn more about your act, there's no point us including it on NetRhythms. Do yourself a favour NOW if you are under the radar of the mainstream music biz. It is vital to make sure you have everything in place: an up to date website or myspace, the album, album availability (mailorder via your website or a Distribution deal), mailing list (the fan base), UK gigs or tour to promote the album.
We'll try to help with a review when we can see the other stuff is on your website. We do check!

Sue Cavendish

As a music manager specialising in acoustic music, Sue served on the Council of the Music Managers Forum.
She was a founding member of the New Acoustic Movement (together with Bob Paterson, Terry O'Brien and Tony Moore) and has liaised with those involved with most aspects of the music industry.
Sue is no longer a music manager, devoting her time now to NetRhythms (and support via the internet) of songwriters and acoustic music.

Net Rhythms aims to be supportive of songwriters and music and musicians under the radar of the media mainstream. We provide links to those involved with the very best roots music: Alt.country, Singer-songwriters, Americana, Folk, Blues, Acoustic Music & Classic Rock - and we list Tour dates of those acts whose albums we've reviewed
You won't find bad reviews on NetRhythms because we want you to know about the good stuff.
If we don't like it, we ain't gonna include it!
